Hey Guys,
So here I am scoring a cup of Starbuck's, walking on the sidewalk and minding my own business when a car comes wide around the corner, gets parallel with me and then at the last minute turns left towards me. The car jumps the curb and drives me into the nearest building wall...nice huh???! I get the EMT ride (those guys were great and yes I told them so!) do the XRAY thing, no broken bones and get released.

Me...multiple lacerations, imprints from the stucco wall (never thought of stucco hurting before!)on my leg and a leg that looks like I leg-press a 1000 lbs. Oh yes I get to sample Motrin for a few days...but MY STRIDER SLCC (Ti) came out without a scratch!!! The ER guys were checking it out and I was trying to get some knife orders even then!

Bottom line: that Starbuck's can be dangerous and the SLCC came through with flying colors!!
Take Care All,
Joe

Joe,

Hey buddy, I hope you're doing well. Sounds like everything happened in seconds. Glad to hear you have the wherewithal to bring it up in slight humor:) You SLCC was your good luck charm, or was it the other way around? ;)
I was charged by a dog one time. A presa canario (spelling?) when I found later that he just wanted to play. I ended up on top of a car and the owner kept screaming, "Don't move!, he just wants to play". Put it this way, the dog's head was bigger than a basketball with a mouth the size of pac-man's. I found later that while I hopped on top of this car, I had cut my leg on a torn metal bumper.

Shelby

Hey there Shelby!!
Honestly, my brain couldn't rationalize this metal object actually changing direction and coming at ME!! Very strange feeling...next time though I WILL have my trusty Air Wing and seek the path to attack!!;)

On another point, your pix of the World Trade Lights is truly beautiful, I say that with utmost respect for your talent. Thanks for sharing.
Joe
p.s. BTW guys, I KNOW I was lucky...I do pray every once in awhile.:)

I am glad you didn't get hurt any worse than you did. I hope you have a speedy and full recovery.

Dennis

Wow, Joe! The mental picture I get of that accident isn't pretty. I hope you didn't dent that poor guy's car too badly. That would have been rather rude.;)

Glad to hear you're ok, bud. It sounds like it could have been a lot worse; and I'm glad that it wasn't. Get better soon!

Dave

but what was up with the driver?
Stroke, crack, idiot or what?

(I also see some new Striders in your future)
You know you got it bad when you think of a settlement in Striders;)

Yeah I do count myself lucky...definately could have been worse!
No Kamp, I think his paint held up....so far.
1whobuys....maybe you want to negotiate for me, ahem, I am sure for a percentage of course!:D
Thanks Again...
Joe

glad to see you are OK Buddy. If it wasn't a felony, I would ship ya some Pain killers. But they would probably get "lost" in the mail.

Just happy to see you came out OK. Get well real soon and find me an AR and a GB!!!!

Ira;)

Joe,

Glad your ok. Sorry about your bumps and scrapes, it could have been a lot worse. Man (w/Strider) vs. Car (moving) is not a situation I'd want to be in.

Heal quickly,

S.

Well, I've always been curious as to what a Strider would do to a car (especially a Lexus). Make sure to take some pics after you find the guy.

Yeah, but Joe, will those stucco marks heal as fast as those teeth marks in your arm and wrist? :p I swear I've had my shots, really...

SGT Fitts

Yeah you SAID you had your shots...but what about that girl you had with you!

Mr. Duane.....moment of impact - I'm bitchin about the coffee that is going all over the place and then the pain neurons kick in and remind me that I'm alive. What a morning!!!
Take Care of yourselves,
Joe

Hey Joe,

I'm glad to hear you’re on the mend after your encounter with the Lexus. After doing the two-step with the Postman, I put my hands on the MFS you sent on Friday. I am very impressed, as this is truly "my first Strider." I look forward to receiving my HT.

BTW -- Mr. Estrada called me the day after his encounter with the Lexus to tell me that my MFS was on the way -- despite his mishap. This guy is dedicated!

All the Best,
John
:D
