Sleeper Knife (Vox Rold)

I don't know man. I've been lurking and reading my brains out here. There are always tradeoffs in the knife - hence no perfect one knife. Still a beautiful knife and I love the Vox designs.

It really is a great knife
And I agree, very underrated on this forum.
I like the FFG, saber grind would reduce its cutting ability too much.
As is is, its a great all-around blade. Cuts well, chops well (for its size, of course), batons well, handles well

I have held this knife in VERY high regard since getting one when they first came out. If I were to leave aside my customs, this might be the one knife I would take with me if I could only have one. It is not perfect, but can do all I would wish; some things better than others, but none poorly and many well.

It is a good useful looking blade. The reviewer is also good & useful looking.:D

The accent and terrible "bat'ning" skills on display had me shutting this off at around the two minute mark. Just can't get into the design or country-of-origin of this knife. Your mileage may vary.

I mean, seriously. Around the 1:55 minute mark is Clownshoes Amateur Hour.

Thank you for nice and short video about the Rold as there aren't that much of them after all. I really enjoy videos whose makers try to keep them short and keep their focus on the reviewed item.

And on behalf of all the people with accents and imperfect batoning skills I thank Quiet for his tolerance and empathy...

Ron Hood she ain't, but she is getting out in the woods and having a shot, testing her gear out and improving her skills. That's OK by me.

numbersman, absolutely. I'd rather see this than some table top review of a pristine knife that's going to sit in somebody's sock drawer after the video is over. Oh, and so much for D2 not being good for such things as this...

Well.. I guess if that is the knife then go for it.
I personally would get rid of the finger groove and jimping (blisters and hand ache).
I have personally never found such features desired in outdoors knife, as activities like whittling can be straining for your hand.

Poor splitting skills maybe, but I could understand her just fine. At the least, the girl DID use the knife several time, instead of bouncing it back and forth, or turning it this way and that. She made a spear of it, made a feather stick, assisted-cut a...tree fungus...uh...
All in all, she demonstrated the knife, she didnt just sit there with it and list off factory specs.

Rut row, Irony rears its head again! Thank you for your tolerance and empathy of my comments. LOL

P.S. It's just a video, who cares what I think? It's not like I'm calling for the torch and pitchfork brigade, settle down.
