I just got a sleeping bag from bass pro and it was too small, it was supposed to be a long wide but still was too tight at my shoulders. I am 6 ft. 4 inch. and 280 lbs. :o

Below is a link to a picture and width etc.. Does anyone know of a bigger bag for about the same money ?

I know, I'm scrimping on $ but I am not sure how many times I will get to use it due to severe back problems, so I am trying to cut back on cost a bit. I also need a cheaper extra long wide......very thick pad. :o

Here is the pad I got with it, I have not rolled it out yet,

Thanks for any help......

I believe if you look around you will find that Thermarest pads can be attached side by side. Others might be able to do that also. So width shouldn't be a problem. Your feet don't need to be on the pad. You can place anything under them to keep off of the ground.

Your bag is a different matter. Can't help you here except to say that if your tight in your bag, those areas that are tight you will be crushing the loft you need to keep warm and that is not a good thing.

Wiggy's bags. Probably the last and best made here in the US. Colorado to be specific. They will also custom make a bag to your size. It'll cost you more but they are phenomenal bags.

I'm 6'5" and over 300 lbs too. I use two bags:

From Campmor.com: Marmot Trestles 15 degree, Long, X-wide for $99, 35"x90". This is a very lightweight high quality bag at 3 lbs, 14 oz. It is a bit snug for my taste.

From Cabelas: Summit Mummy Magnum -20 degree for $169.99. This is a more comfortable bag, 42"x92". Bigger w/ fleece lining. Much heavier at 9 lbs 8 oz, but it is warm and has nice features such as a collar (to keep warmth in) and a very large hood. They also make a retangular version.

I also recently purchased a Cabelas Ultimate Long Self-Inflating pad, 36"x82", for $129.99. I really really like this pad!!!! I have a shorter pad that tends to make my feet cold since the pad isn't long enough

None of these are cheap, but they are very nice. You'll only need to buy one if it is the right one.

Can't beat Wiggies.

Robbie, Wiggys is hand's down the best sleeping sytem out there. But you mentioned two parameters; your budget and a bad back. I am going to make a second suggestion, and do a 180 degree turn in technology. www.cowboycamp.net It sounds like you need easy access in and out too. Not all canvas is the same. These folks use the best.
