Hi folks I Finished this slicer a few weeks ago it is my first slicer and my first hidden tang integral. Not the first one I forged but the first one I every finished I have forged many for Mike Rader and Mike ask me if I would forge him a 15" slicer he gave me a wood templet of the shape he wanted so one day I started in on the project I had two bars or steel of the same damascus one was a bit bigger then the other so with the biggest bar I forged mike a slicer to his templet with no steel to spare. I enjoyed forging that slicer so much I took the other bar a forged one for myself. I call this Damascus Shark attack . I went for that old world look with mine and I may make a fork to go with it. I waited till Mike was done with his and I hope he will add his to this thread to make it more fun for all of us .sharkfood1.jpgsharkfood2.jpgsharkfood5.jpgshrkfood3.jpgshrkfood4.jpg

Wow Mike that came out very nice I love the carving . Peter I sent the stag to a place called culpepper @co. and had it amber dyed they do a fine job. The blade on mine is 13" OAL is 18.

Thanks guys. Dave makes some absolutely awesome damascus and his knives get better every time I see one. I think I will have to start teaching him wrong so he doesn't start pissing me off :-)

Yeah, both very nice pieces. It's really interesting to see 2 different takes on the same idea. I like the hammered spacer on Dave's and the carving on Michael's is very cool.
Killer damascus.

That's one Beautiful slicer Dave. Love the damascus and the killer stag:thumbup: It's obvious that the integral bug has bit you. It's an incurable disease of which there is no immunization. Welcome to the club:D

That damascus has so much character--fantastic work. Just glad I'm not a turkey. :) (yeah, yeah, I know)

Beeutiful steel David. Great knives both of em. I like the grind on Michaels, it should have lightened that long slicer to a feather wieght.

Great looking Knife/Short Sword Dave ;)

And the Damascus you've been turning out lately has been nothing short of stunning !

Really, really nice work
