Slicing billet, saw recommendation

I have just started making some pattern welded billets and and having a problem cutting them for the re-stack. I guess the billet air hardens enough that my porta band will hardly scratch the stuff. I have a cold saw but that is certainly not the answer. I am thinking about getting one of the 7 X 12 bandsaws from harbor freight or grizzly or an abrasive saw. What are you guys that have been doing this for a while using?

If you dont have plasma. I vote for abrasive cutoff saw also.
Its probably the most miserable noisy & dirty cutting tool ever,
But they are about the most inexpensive tool to cut anything you put under its wheel.

Fwiw, I dont have one.
Powerhacksaw and bandsaw do all the cutting we need.
