Slicing through free falling paper sheets?

I once saw a post about someone sharpening a knife that would slice through free falling pieces of paper. I think they accomplished this with an Edge Pro sharpener, which I've recently aquired. If you have pulled this off, what blade angle is required? What technique did you use? This may not be something I want to do with all my knives, but it would be fun to have one knife to show off with.

Or even slicing through toilet paper without ripping it?

Thanks,

Methinks that post was mine. I've done that trick with Busse knives (#5, #7, sharpened at 24 degrees), CS Bush Ranger (21 degrees), an RTAK (24 degrees), and a bunch of folders (21 degrees). It's not so much the angle as the technique. You have to draw the blade towards you as you strike, with practice you'll figure out the right technique, just don't cut your arm off!

There are only two types of people; those who understand this, and those who think they do.

Someone once told me that Sal Glesser can cut a circle out of a free hanging piece of paper, which is equally impressive to me.

I've done that repeatedly with a Sypderco Large Calypso plain edge, has VG10 and takes what some call a Vorpal edge.
Caution is needed and a very acute awareness of who is around you when you start making passes at a falling piece of paper!
I used the Spyderco sharpmaker and also the set of Norton stones when needed.
It's a great feat when done, as they say, timing is everything, but don't stab yourself in the process!

Actually I think I must have misunderstood what I read. I can toss a piece of photocopy paper in the air and slice it in half with ease. I thought someone had their knife laying blade up and just dropped the paper on the blade (without moving the knife) and slicing the paper in half.

Or does this only happen in cartoons?
