Here are two from John Perry's table at the recent Arkansas Knifemakers Association show in Little Rock.

The fighter style knife has really nice lines, a beautiful sculpted handle, interesting guard and several nice touches that make it a stand out in my eyes.

The folding hunter is a good-sized, super clean, no-nonsense knife appropriate for outdoor use, often with a gloved hand. Blade is 3 1/4 in., handle is 4 1/2 in. making it 7 3/4 in. overall and with the same feel as a stout straight blade. The blade style on this knife is true to purpose, and the back-spring is stiff. I've found it best to use two hands for opening and closing this knife. It's a serious tool. Keeping the weight down in a knife of this size was accomplished with a titanium frame and carbon fiber scales. It weighs only 4 oz. - perfect for belt carry in a slim flap style sheath. It's also very handsome, beautiful to look at. It strikes me as as a knife that absolutely nails the standard for its class.

oh, just about left for the evening, glad I came back for a final look before hittin the sack.
Thank you for the eye canday!

The fighter looks very modern in style. The guard, the handle and the diamond with the "JP" on the ricasso all contribute. I think it actually confuses me a little. A classic design with such a modern look. Execution is flawless.
I really love that folder though in every way.
Both knives are exceptional.

Nice stuff. Now if that folder had slabs in the same wood as the fighter it would have been perfect.

Nice work!

Kind regards,

Jos

Those are both terrific - I am a big fan of John's work and these are two good examples of why. The fighter really speaks to me - great lines.

Thanks for all the nice comments and thanks to Buddy for posting the great pics. The fighter is 1084 w/ mild steel fittings and ironwood handle. The fittings were etched and heat colored with a gold-anodized spacer between.
The folding hunter was the result of a class I taught last summer. I wanted to do a simple project with a blade size easy to grind for various skill levels. So I designed this big folding hunter. I thought that if I were to build such a knife if would have to be light for ease of carry. So I made the integral frame from CP titanium and woven CF scales. The blade is D2 tool steel, one of my favorite stock removal steels.

All nice but I really like the fighter. The guard has a cool kinda flow kinda looks may I say Art Deco, Very nice and stands out to me

These are really nice looking knives Buddy. Expertly photographed too, as is your norm.. I recently added one of John's folders to my own collection, (thanks Roger..), and was stoked with the quality when it arrived last week.. It was priced right, and very solidly built. Finish is as good as some of my pieces at 3-4 times the price.. Thanks for showing your new ones... Rich

Thanks folks! And thanks JP for adding the particulars. I'm having so much fun photographing these knives - I just keep doin' it!

I had a chance to handle the folding hunter. It fits the hand perfectly, and its so light, you need to strap your feet down while you hold it.

All quality, Buddy. As expected.

All the shots are professional quality, but the last one, in it's simplicity and radiance really works well.

Nicely done!

Thanks, Coop. I have to credit "my attractive wife" on that last one. She said, "Oh, don't throw that one away. Green is my favorite color!" ;)

Here's one more shot of the folding hunter*:

*For the gun-lovers out there - that's a model 1892 Winchester with lever action and an octagonal barrel, chambered for 25-20 W.C.F., mfg. approx. 1910
