Slight binding on opening????

My first Emerson is a mini cqc 7 on opening I notice a several slight binding areas from closed to open. I have tried to work it in. The lock up has gotten perfect but no improvement on smoothness. Is this normal and should I apply a little oil and if so what type is best??? Thanks for the help.

try a little gun oil. first loosen the pivot screw a little to open the gap between the blade and the spacers. then tighten and adjust so there is little/no lateral blade play and opens smoothly.
 
nope its not normal, try some oil (ie rem-oil, tuffglide or militec all work fine, the rem-oil is available at walmart for - $1.50 FWIW, clear bottle w/a yellow top, if ya email militec they will send ya a free sample that'll last w while on knife pivots, tuffglide is available at www.newgraham.com, or common gun oil works too lol) and work the balde and adjust the pivot as mori said, it should smooth out, if not send it back to EKI it should be smmmoooottthhh.
