Slight purple/pink hue on diamond hones? Normal?

Is it normal to see some faint colors on diamond hones? I assume it has something to do with bonding of diamonds to the steel plate? Two out of three of my new DMT hones have that. The last time I remember seeing something like that was a drill bit I burned pretty bad, but those colors were much more pronounced.

Anybody else seen this?

The diamonds are imbedded in a nickel plated matrix. As long as they adhere to the steel backing, I wouldn't worry about it. Plating can take on various hues.
