I call this one the Belt Hawk. It`s made from 1/4" O1,with a full tang, and has a head 4" from front to back, a 3" cutting edge, and is 11 3/4" overall. There is a bit of the heat treat scale left on for that "old time" look. The handles are lightly torched oak, with 5 -1/8" brass pins, and is 9 1/4" long.

That is one mighty fine piece of work.
I think you just invented a new style of 'hawk... Neo-traditional.

Excellent design. Love the heat treat scale look. What is the weight with the full tang? I'm sure you have already thought of this...screw attached haft scales so that one can quickly replace a broken scale or quick style as the mood suits.

Weight is 1 lb, 4 oz. I could easily use threaded standoffs to hold the handles on.

Thanks to all for the nice comments. I kind of made this just for fun, but it`s getting a lot of interest.

Very nice! I see a lot of potential with that design, as is it is great of course. However, you could put custom handles on it pretty easy. Maybe hollow handles for some small items with screws to remove the scales. Kydex sheath option?

Would love to see a batch of these made.

Please keep us (me:-) posted if you make any for sale.

Wow that is awesome. I'd also like to see it with removable scales. What is the price on these? PM if you don't want to post in the thread. Thanks.

Edit: Nevermind. I see it in your sub-forum. Not a bad price.

There are many full-tang axes like this that I don't care for and some that I do like. This falls into the latter category. Looks right handy and elegant. My eye wants to see a bit of a hammer poll to balance it visually, though. :)
