My girlfriend (Sarah) just got a copper mixing bowl. It says to clean useing a copper cleaner, but not a pollish. Anyone have any ideas as to what a copper cleaner consists of? Would vinegar work?

Thanks

The copper mixing bowl is best used for beating egg white . The egg white reacts with the copper to give more volume therefore there shouldn't be anything on the copper such as stuff from polish. In addition any fat at all will interfere with the forming of the beaten whites so it has to be thoroughly clean with detergents and if you want to polish the salt/lemon juice will work fine.

My mom cooked with those copper clad cook ware for 20 years, and the same pans my grandma had for 30 years the both used katsup(ketchup). Wipe it on wait 10-15 min, rinse and towel dry. Its acid/vin combo...
