I ordered one late last week. They shipped same day. It showed up today. (WOOHOO!!)

Turns out they sent me the top-end one with all the extra stones. I ordered the mid-grade one. (Wanted the DVD.)

I emailed the place. Just heard back. "Thanks for your honesty. Keep it as my thanks."

Fast delivery, great service AND bend-over-backwards attitude. WOW!

Now I have to get my TL-stylin going. Gonna start with a junk blade I've got in the basement. Then move up from there. :)

Great for you, I like it when people are honest about a mistake that benefits them and they are rewarded by the mistaken and left without guilt.

That's where I got mine, the 'complete' it's a lot of fun :D;).

I'm still practicing on kitchen knives, lest I pull an edge-pro-ducci.

Have fun !

I think that may have been where I got mine also. I don't remember, but I love the Edge Pro!

The edger pro is great. But since I figured out the sand paper, strop, convex thing... I never use it except for kitchen knives and some folders.

The edgepro is one of the best sharpening system out there. I love mine! Have fun with it. You will love it!

Since you have the deluxe kit, I'll be sending you all my knives to sharpen. Of course, they'll have homing pigeons attached in case you get any ideas. You don't eat pigeon, do you?

Please clue me in. I'm still having trouble. Maybe it's my mouse pads.

Or maybe it's all the martinis I've been drinking. :o

Either way, I blame you. :p

Do I look like Porkerson:grumpy:

Thin firm mouse pad.

Lay the blade FLAT on the sand paper and just raise the spin a little. I rely on the softness of the pad to get the paper to the edge. Try a black marker on the edge and just lift the spine of the knife a little at a time until you are hitting the edge. For me that is pretty flat and the pressure I use is light.

As you get better at this use less and less pressure to hold the knife onto/into the paper (or strop) and bring the knife more on edge. Think in terms that the softness of the pad is giving you the shape of the edge. To some extent if you push hard you get a steep angle and thick edge; less pressure thinner edge. Eventually the pressure on the strop/paper should be little more than the weight of the knife.

Really I have even brought my user folders to convex. I can't get as sharp an edge as I can with and edge pro but I do get “hair popping sharp”. What I like so much about convex is that it shaves after a lot of use, and if it doesn’t it comes right back with about 30 seconds on a strop.

The other reason I like it so much is that all I need is a 3x6 inch hunk of sand paper and I can sharpen my knives on a back pack trip. I use my thigh to support the paper, but then yours may be too soft. :p

Thanks. I'm going to print this out.

I'm still practicing. If they come back looking strangely like a Cold Steel $25 knife, I'm sorry. But I'll give it my best shot. ;)

First of all that was the right thing to let them know they sent the Deluxe,
Honesty is always the way to go:thumbup:

Thanks for the site Dennis, I'm going to check it out...need a few stones.

Thnx for the site, have to order myself an edge pro:thumbup:
