Anybody ever used one of these? I had never heard of it before, but a friend of mine knows I am a "knife guy" and he was asking me about it. I looked it up online and it looks like a whetstone kit. I mostly use a Sharpmaker, so I am clueless.

Can anybody help with some info?

At that price I expect the stones would not be very high quality but it looks like a decent set to learn on

if a wifey offered as gift, I'd accept no questions asked

Definitely junk. Perfect thing to practice freehand on. There are hundreds of those same color stones with different names on Amazon and Ali express. That’s what I learned on. But quickly ungraded to Shapton stones.

Thanks everybody! I'll tell him it's a good set to learn on, but if he really learns freehand sharpening, he may want to upgrade. Does that sound about right?

the set is ***k for the monies paid 's all.
one could compile the items oneself (sourced from amzn alix eebei etc) for a third of the price. but if your pal feels like throwing monies at a US American company (might feel good!) then go ahead.

my total on learning was around the 60$ mark too btw.
