This is the first of two small knives that will be going to a good friend and one of my best repeat collectors. The two knives will not match or be a set in any way. One is ground and full tang, the other is forged and hidden tang. This one is the ground, full tang one.

This is a nice, slim and light hunter/daily carry. I've been selling and taking orders for quite a few of these lately.

Specs:
Ground from W2, clay quenched and etched
6 3/4" overall, 3 1/8" tip to scales with just over 2 7/8" sharp, .140" thick right at the ricasso with sharp distal taper
Blade height is 7/8" tall from spine to edge right in front of the ricasso, handle width at the thickest part (butt end) right about 7/16"
Fileworked thumb grip
Heavily rounded spine
Tapered tang, tapered down to .030"
Premium stabilized Koa handle with TONS of shimmer that I can't capture in pics
German silver pins
Fileworked butt end

All comments, discussion and opinions welcome.

Mr Doyle
I'm a big fan of your knives. Your subtle touches of class and style are a big influence to me. Very nice in every aspect, thanks sharing.

Cool knife John.
At first glance looks kind of conservative.
But then after a closer look I noticed lots of little details that I really liked.
Very classy knife.

very elegant piece, i like you didn't use liners and the butt decoration is really spot on.
The blade shape and finish is screaming hot!! I bet the wood in hands looks like straws of gold shimmering from a hot cup of black coffe.

Thank you much guys. I appreciate it. This one feels great in hand. It's definitely not plain, but as you said Mark, the details are very subtle.

Thanks again.

John, I'm almost getting sick of complimenting you. Each and every piece you've turned out has just done it for me, and this one is no exception. LOVE the rebated butt.

Nice one, man!!!

My only comment is that I would really like to have one like it. The lines are excellent. The scales go well with the blade color.

I particularly like the size, thinking that with a minimalist sheath I could carry it in my jeans pocket.

Love the subtle detail! I'm a sucker for knives like this. You are on my very short list of fixed blade makers for when the time is right.

Thank you guys so much for the comments. I'm glad some of you like this. I've been trying for about a year and a half to come up with a small, convenient fixed blade knife design to become a regular in my line up. I've tried a few sizes and shapes of blades and handles and I think I've finally settled on this one. The lines, profile and proportions on this one just seem right to me. And my sales of these types of knives agree. I've sold a fair number of these now already. It's been a much better seller than the other similar patterns I've tried.

I appreciate all the input.
