:grumpy: Hello to all have been browsing on this fine Forum and finally decided to join!
2 months ago I bought SOG Elite Specs 2 auto and a SlimJim XL and love them both, the SJ is my daily carry and yesterday I could not flip it open no matter how hard I tried.
But I was able to open it manually with some resistance and did so 3 X or so then I tried to use the thumb switch and it opened as usual but I heard something hit the floor, was a 1 1/3" x 1/4" piece of metal on floor it is raised at 1 end and I guess it fits under lever lock release, the end piece I could see had a broken edge.
Now the knife opens easier than ever but will not go up and lock no matter how hard I flip it and I have to pull blade up to lock!
Anybody have a similar prob? I love this knife but the sliding lock switch on top always moves on its own and wont stay in place or slides under handle when I want to close it.
I will contact them Monday and I still don't see how this Spring broke since I have never used knife but to open a box or two!
I just really hope the Warranty covers it since it wasn't cheap and I just used it to carry!
