Well, heres my new slimline gents tac, bottom knife in pic. Unfortunatly the proto is off in another part of the country right now, and my spec sheets are in the shop, but the specs for the top knife are as follows. 3.25" blade length, blade width is just over 1 inch, handle width is 1.063 at widest point. The lentgh and thickness specs are the same on both knives, the slimline is just narrower. This is not a replacement for the gents tac, just a variation. Have some other new stuff coming out next year, just need to get protos designed and bugs worked out ( esp on flipper model ;) ). Let me know what y'all think -- Charles

I prefer the slimmer lines of the new one. That is a really nice looking knife. I find that I am starting to like blades with a slight clip like these have. Maybe it is my love of bowies transfering to other styles of knives.

I fondeled your proto at the B.A.K.C.A meeting last Thursday and I really like it.Good lines and the bone really does it for me.On my list of ones to get.

Constructive criticism time. I like the handle design and the blade shape, but I find these blades to be too wide for these particular handles.

Charles,

I think you got them JUST right!! I'm going to respectfully disagree with Danbo on the blade size thoughts. From the feedback I get regarding my own knives, people LOVE the look of a larger blade to handle apearance. I think this carries over well on a smaller gentlemans size knife also. It IS a slimline TAC after all. Just my 2 cents :)

Charles, ...Clean very clean...Great job!!!

Sorry Dando, Im with Neil, blade to handle looks fine for a somewhat tactical design..:)

I definately like them. I'm going to agree with Neil on the wider blade. I like a wide blade to a slimmer handle. The model 2 by Mike O. is an example of that. A lot of Kit's knives are the same way, and I definately like them as do a LOT of others. Your design though is very, VERY nice. I can see that I'm going to have to get serious with you this time!:) :D That do come in a 4" blade don't it? :D

Cool Charles! Will the smaller one also have a pocket clip?

I also like the wider blade. Wide blade = longer knife life!!!!:D

Mr. Marlowe,

Your knife is a very nice design. The fit and finish on your prototype, was excellent. The knife was balanced and was comfortable to hold. I thought the handle and blade size was a good match. Nice piece.

Well as many of you know, most of my knives have fairly wide, "bellied" blades. I like the looks, and the functionality. What I found on the original ( bulldog ) was I thought it looked too wide, the new slimline is actually closer to the original sketch I did for the knife, it just got mistranslated in specing it out. I am planning on having a larger version of this knife, as it should enlarge better than the bulldog.

Chris, yes it will have pocket clip, as do all my folders except for the small pocket knives.

Thanks guys -- Charles

Absolutely outstanding Charles!
Both are excellent but I'm a fan of big fat folders so the top one is my favorite. Man I love the pattern!!!

Really nice Charles.., I got to play with one (Duane).., and the profile is just sooooooooooo nice! Wonderful job! Merry Christmas to you also.., and thanks for the two outstanding Balisongs! We'll talk soon...

Glad you like the balis Pete, glad you got to play with the slimline. Gimme a buzz if you have any questions, thanks -- Charles

This is my first and only custom folder. Yes, it is a lefty. It is in my everyday rotation. The fit and finish is fantastic. Charles is a pleasure to work with. From what I seem in his new offerings lately, I think he is on target on what a user really needs. Of course, this is only my opinion.
Happy Holidays

Charles:
I like that knife! I would be interested in ordering one. How does the size compare to the small Sebenza? What would the cost and wait time for a left hand version, tip down carry in S30V steel? Feel free to e-mail me the specs if you don't want to answer them in the forum.
