what is the safest way to cut rope,boxes,etc. without it closeing? and do case's slip joints have a strong snap like they used to? (never owned a modern case slip joint).
yeah, not sure how if you are cutting with the sharpened side of the blade it's possible for pretty much any slippie to close on ya, unless you are thrusting into the box or something along those lines.
Use common sense and you'll be fine. Just remember the old saying: "As through life you go, 2 rules must never bend; never whittle towards yourself or pee against the wind."
