I have all ways wanted to make a slip joint knife and 2 days ago, I decided to start with one. As far as you can see I have cut everything and fit the back spring and blade to the final position, next step is to clean the blade and the back spring, and make them ready for heat treatment.

To be continued

Looking forward to this as I've been itching to do my first folder too. What are the materials you're using?

Thanks, the materials i'm using are stainless liners and RWL-34 for the blade and back spacer, and I think I will put some carbon fiber for the scales, but I’m not sure yet.

Just a small update for this one.
So far, i have grind the blade (still need to clean it and make it sharp), now I still need to trim the liners and the scales a bit, and I must grind a bit of the inside of the spring because the tension it is a bit on the hard side.
And I must say that for my first slip joint it is coming along very good.
Thanks for looking.

Here is the final product.
The total length in open position is 18cm and 8.5cm in the close position, with 7cm cutting edge.
Thanks for looking.
