I am considering one or both of these DVDs but I haven't found reviews.
Any recommendation?

1 How to Build a Slipjoint (3 DVDs)
Chris Crawford

2 Making a Slip Joint Knife with Weldon Whitley (2 DVDs)

Thanks-

I have seen Weldons' video and liked it very much. That being said..I do not think you can learn how to build a slipjoint from it. I did learn different ways to skin the cat and how to do many things differently than I had ever done them. I have seen Crawfords' liner lock video and it could teach you to build one.....but a bit amateurish.......but good.
For example Weldon spot welds his bolsters to the liners. You have to have a spot welder. He makes serpentine blosters and teaches you how to fit the scales to the bolsters. Neither video teaches you to grind. But I figure...the more info you have..the better you will get........the key word here is ...will. I will send you the Weldon video if you would like.

That's a kind offer John. I sent you a PM my contact is also on my web page.

Yep...all these videos and books have limited value but they can give a boost if used properly with guidance from an expert and experience.

I have Chris's as well. It is on the slipjoint and is very informative. I could build a slip easily by watching his. But, the grinding is what is lacking, as mentioned before. All other information is on Chris Crawford's DVD. He is a great teacher for the beginner. Just my two cents worth.
