Slip joint Ti liner question

Hi all,

I am making a slip joint with a Ti liner and stainless damascus blade. To prevent scratching the tang i relieved the liners.

When I pinned the knife, it felt a bit strange. Like the Ti is slightly gummy and makes the action less crisp. After some working in, its seems fine. Never made one before with relieved Ti liners.

Anyone had this with Ti and relieved liners? Does anyone know how this construction is going to hold up with use?
