Are there any traditional slip joints, production or mid-tech, using S30V for thier primary blade?

Since no one has answered I´ll put in my thoughts, I haven´t seen or heard of any traditionals in SV30 (or BG42 for that matter) and I don´t think there are any made yet. Of the modern popular top steels, what I´ve known of are ATS134, 154CM, 440C, AUS8, and D2.

If you like slip-joint folders with excellent blade steel, you might check out the Cold Steel folders with Carbon V blades.

I recently bought their Trapper and Mini-Stockman, both on close-out at $30 and $25 respectively. Those Carbon V blades take and hold an excellent edge.

I have not seen any is S30V, but I do have a wharncliff whittler by Dan Burk in BG-42. This thread sure has give me food for thought on my next "user" multiblade and it would be awesome if a factory decided to make one. Sure the cost would be up there, but I would be in line, if the price was not out of site.

Genltemen's knives are quite popular and using some high end materials, the Chris Reeve Mnandi for example, very popular. I would love to have a traditional looking slip joint in the modern S30V, at least the main blade.

The Carbon V is a decent steel, I believe what Cold Steel is calling Carbon V is really 0170-6C. And I don't have a problem with a non-stainless... except when its a EDC in my pocket.

I think that there would be a market for a "modernized" slip joint. S30V blade/blades, Ti, carbon fiber/G10.....

I'd love to see what Chris Reeve could do with a slip joint.

I've been saying this for a while now. I think a maker could be VERY successful doing this. If I ever get into knife making, it's what I plan on doing.

Bailey Bradshaw does slip joints in S30V. He also uses CPM 3V. I've got one on order in S30V.
