I dont post much, but i really enjoy reading this particuler forum. To the point, when i came home from work tonite,i had a package(not a knife,DAGNABBIT),it was an old football game i won on e-bay,anyway,i handle my knife several times a day,so as i am reading the latest post on here ,im also opening the package,I have never ,ever cut myself with this EDC knife,it is a C/S gunsite,The package is kind of large,so its cumbersome,as i am cutting the tape WHAM,2 of the serrated teeth sink into my left middle finger,my initial thought, was humerous,"didnt i just read about bites".The moral of my story,Dont get to occupied with other than what you are cutting.I prolly would not have posted this,if i had not been reading this forum when it happened.I do have a question, also. How does the United butterfly knife compare to other butterfly knives of the 10.00 to 50.00 doller range??? Thanks,---Mark R.

Sometimes, when an exciting package arrives, I have to set the knife and the package down for a moment and collect myself first.

Chuck, you must be referring to the bali I sent you, right?

I've found that I have to set the knife down before an interesting package arrives... the UPS man refuses to come into the studio while I'm armed and drooling

I've been waiting for you to decloak here on the forum. Welcome aboard.

Someday, we'll talk him into posting some pictures of his balisongs. I can't wait to see what he comes up with.

Thanks for the replies guys.I always have to put a knife away when the doorbell rings(just kidding). But,i actually did go out and buy a mini cooper/copper lock(CASE),i have been wanting one for a while,so after my KNICK incident,it was the perfect time to down size a little.Still no word on my ol United butterfly knife, cmon guys, even if its terrible,i would just like to know where it stands with other similer priced butterflies.Your reply ,will not hurt as much as my gunsite cut did...haha.Thanx again----Mark R.

me neither,
I don't know if I've ever seen a United brand butterfly.

I had been suprized that United didn't make a bali. They have copyed so many other styles, the "Double Shaddow" bootknife is in my truck as a throw-away thrower.

I'd love to see what you can get ahold of.

Sorry,i dont have a pic of it,here is a description of it though.I got it as a Christmas present about 5 years ago.overall Open length is 9 inches exactly. The blade looks like a bowie type blade,it is 3/4 of an inch at its widest point, blade is 4 inches from handle to point tip, handle is4 and 7/8 ths.The handle(Each) has two elongated oval slots, with a small round hole between them, then going toward the blade,in open position,is 3 more round holes, decreasing in circum. each hole.On the left side of the blade,it reads
United(in italic)
U S A
stainless
That is the only markings on the blade. The handle color is almost immpossible to say what color it is,it seems to be a brown/bronze mix,but with hints of dark brown speckle.Oh well, thats about all there is to it.I have seen one (pic) on this site before,i just cant find it to tell you where to look.Thanx again---Mark R.

United makes some good products,so chances are it's ok.I've seen one of their balisongs, and it didn't look bad to me.It also looked like it would hold up pretty well.I didn't get to handle it,so I really couldn't tell you more about it.
