I'm looking for nice slipcases to carry custom slipjoints in my pocket. I occasionally see them with knives but never for sale at shows -- the nice little leather jobs with the flap. Can anyone point me to a vendor? Thanks.

Yes, those buffalo leather pouches are just the thing. Anywhere to buy them in small quantities that will also have some choices of sizes?

Gary Levine sells a very nice pouch at www.levineknives.com, also under "Accessories". I had some made for me at extremely reasonable rate by "Cutters and Collectors", but they are plain slipcases, no flap or anything. Ron Ryder is the proprietor, and is a very nice guy. He advertises over on KnifeForums.com often.

If you don't find what you like, you can make your own.

I bought a leather "belly" from Zack White leather, cut out to sides and brought it to a shoemaker to sew it together. I made a slip case for a TNT, and tied a lanyard to the knife to extricate it from the tight-fitting leather slip case.

This is the knife pouch I made from a skin I bought. it’s left natural and just cut to a simple round end design. A shoemaker did the stitching for me and it wound up just right.

The knife embeds well, so as to reduce the chance of scratching. The knife is held securely due to the medium tight fit. It retracts easily with the lanyard. The whole thing is comfortable to slip into the pocket.

This is a good solution for those who want to make their own very simply.

If your looking for a simple slip-case like the one posted by Boink.. check your neighborhood Walmart... the Smiths Brand pocket hone (stones)come in a leather slip pouch exactly like the one pictured for about $4. Of course its not custom molded nor has any fancy basketweve etc... and there is only one size.. but most of my folders will fit in snug and safe. give it a look.

I'll probably go buy them there next time. My home made probably cost more. But the time spent --- priceless! :) it was fun to do.

An unanticipated defensive benefit of an open topped pouch is this - walking through an unstable environment, you could walk with your open folder in the pocket with the blade safely inserted inside the open topped pouch, acting like a sheath.

I'm not sure if I bought the same thing that 801Gnostic was referring to, but i found a little diamond stone with a leather pouch at Wally-world and it is a little too short to cover a large sized stockman but it helps somewhat. The little diamond stone is pretty cool though. I think I'm gonna have Kenny Rowe make me one when I'm sending him some other stuff after the holidays. Can't go wrong with that!
