Slipjoint blade alignment

Every once in a while this happens.
I surface the grind the blade and spring together. Drill the Pivot hole undersize and then ream the hole.

Put it together and assemble and the blade is off to one side.

Everything has to be perfect otherwise the blade alignment is off
it is a forged laminated steel blade.

I know what I'm going to do from now on, which is plunge mill undersize (in a rigid setup) after heat treat to square up the hole and then final carbide ream.

I need a clear head...
Is there any remedy at this point to help bring the blade closer to center?
I don't want to drill and ream out the pivot to a large size like 3/16" but I guess I can if that's the only solution.
currently it's a 1/8" pivot.

Thanks

Here it is with temporary fasteners

Have you verified tram on the mill lately ?
not lately, I squared it up when I bought it last year, I believe it to be still square, certainly enough for knife making sized work.
I've not noticed any problems,

I used a drill press for the drilling and reaming, not the mill. I believe my error was not using a rigid setup on the mill to drill and ream, I floated in the reamer by hand on the drill press,

It is very difficult to ream hole in thin steel .Maybe you should try to ream several blade in same time ?
