Slipjoint blade moves a small amount with weak tension

This knife showed up a few days back, overall quite pleased but this gif shows my only significant gripe:


It seems to me like it would be due to the tang geometry being slightly off such that the torque point and backstop of the blade aren't quite the only two points of contact with the spring, does that seem correct? I'm considering my options for correcting it/am curious generally. It doesn't bother me enormously as it's not noticeable when opening or closing the knife under normal operation or use, but it does bother me slightly on a somewhat expensive knife. After it passes the point shown in the gif the full spring tension acts on the blade.
 
Yes, it's bad geometry.
The knife should never have been assembled like that. Correcting it would cost more than the knife is worth.
