Hello all, I've tried searching for this but to avail. Is pulling a slipjoint apart any more difficult than gently tapping out the pins with the right size punch? Is there anything I should know before tempting this. I'd appreciate any thoughts or help on this matter.

Much respect to all. Kris,.

I have taken a slipjoing apart and barely got it back together. Most I can say is that it is a nightmare. Somehow worse than taking an axis lock apart.

I can only strongly suggest use of clamps and a Torx driver to assist (putting it in the holes to help guide eveyrhting in place, a pick of some kind also should work).

probably know that your likely to screw up the knife; i did when i took one apart, slipjoints are tricky little things.
getting them together and have it function is apparently tricky, got a shooting buddy that warned me about it, he messed up a case slipjoint
You planning on fixing up a knife?

I would advise against it, I tried it and never got it back together. Why are you trying to take it apart? If it's dirty just wash it with hot water and soap and use a blow dryer to dry the pivot. Oil it up and you should be good to go!
If you want different scales I would send it to one of our customizes here. Seals does good work for reasonable prices, I have sent him stuff a couple of times.
