Forgive me if there is already a show and tell thread

I've looked at the peanut thread and the smalls thread but despite a search I've not found anything useful for my quest

I've a bucket of peanuts or similar sized knives as well as a few theat are 3.5" closed but feel like my sweet spot is somewhere in the middle

my current favorite is a 704 but he need a friend or two

can anyone suggest anything in in the single or jack knife blade arrangement

GEC just put out a run of 14s, which are in that size range. Some single blade barlows on the exchange right now, some Cripple Creek and Northfield 2 blade jacks still available at dealers.

My apologies!:( I totally ignored the last criterion (imposing MY preferences for pen set-up on YOUR request). So, obviously, the mini copperhead and pen knife shown below are of little interest to you.

Case mini copperhead at 3.125" is a NICE knife:

So is a yellow delrin Case pen knife, but it's 3.375":

Case sway back jack is 3 3/16"; I like the 2 blade version (thanks, Paul) but there may only be single blades currently available new. Here's mine with a peanut:

GEC 14 with the clip blade and the Case Swayback. Both are solid using knives that punch above their size class.

I like the 3-1/4” size as well. My all time favorite is the Case 63090 equal end stockman. It’s a mini version of the vintage cigar patterns - it’s got a swedge grind on the clip - it’s not the cheapest in your quest, but I’d say the best in the $50 price range. Here’s an example ... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/292816240000

Ps - just noticed you said Jack orientation - so disregard, my bad

Check out Rough Rider knives. Lots of slip joints in the blade range you mentioned. Darn good knives at half the price of Case and 25% the cost of a GEC.

Thanks for the suggestions

I was hoping for something vintage while the GEC14's and Case knives look great and I even thr rough riders are ok in my eyes

I'd really like something that fits in with my Camillus and Bucks form the 70's and 80's

anyone have an opinion on the Schrade USA 33OT?

Here are three you might consider. The Sodbuster Jr. has a 2 3/4” blade, as does the Queen Copperhead, but there are two of them. The Case Trapper has 3 1/4” blades. One of the two bladed models would be my choice, because you can use one blade for rough work and save the other for game processing.

Well, the pics didn’t print, but I’m sure you have seen them before. I’ll try again later.

Here's an old (1956-1988) Imperial serpentine jack (3 1/8") pictured with a Case peanut (2 7/8"); the quarter-inch difference in length translates into a BIG difference in perceived size. The Imperial is a very pleasant knife IMHO.
