I know a lot of us have some of Bill Ruple's knives in our stashes and I hope folks have had the chance to meet this man. Just about every maker I hear about getting started in multiblades bends the ear of Bill, Tony and others for help and hints and I always hear how helpful both have been to these folks getting their feet wet so to speak.
Got home yesterday to the new issue of Blade festering in my mailbox and one of Bill's single blades was on the cover. Great to see such a good guy getting a little press. I am always amazed by the vast majority of makers who share the techniques in many cases that have come about from years of experience and lots of trial and error with those starting out. These guys put "the art" of making and spreading the word above any concerns of adding another maker to the field for us to choose from and when it comes to that sharing it seems that Bill's and Tony's names come pretty often in my conversations with makers.
That says a lot about the people who make these things that we enjoy.
Edited to add:
Shaldag, That beautiful engraved knife of yours by Reese is pictured in that April issue.
