Slipjoint rehandle?

I hope I put this in the right place

I have a new old stock Camillus Boy Scout knife I would like rehandled. Anybody on the forum do this? I was never a Boy Scout and I would like something a little nicer.

All help would be appreciated.

At the risk of offending the Mods by discussing economics, I'd say that's actually a pretty fair price for a rehandle. Keep in mind the amount of time, dedicated attention and custom hand-working that goes into that kind of job and it's not too far out there. Granted, $60 to rehandle an inexpensive production knife might be more than the knife itself. However, there's no accounting for sentimentality and personal history.

Depends on what you're really looking for, I guess.

Google "Muskrat Man Knives".

I don't want to get into specific prices, but the cost of scale material varies quite a bit depending on what you're looking for. I could be mistaken, but I was under the impression that the knife has to be disassembled to properly pin new scales on. It's no small job to disassemble, affix new scales, and reassemble a slip joint knife.

Maybe this guy isn't so trustworthy.... Thanks for that blues, I was about to send him an email and you changed my mind.

This could belong in shoptalk even though its a traditional knife. The knife does have to be completly
taken apart. Unless its black lip or some very high end material the cost of the handle material is
going to be the cheapest part of the project.
Ken.

Thanks KC. I actually have the scales I want put on it (micarta). Just need someone to do the work as I have limited tools(no way of cutting it). I understand the work that goes into it. And i was thinking that maybe it actually is a fair price buuuut now I'm looking for someone else that can.
