I'm looking for a slipjoint knife with a wharncliffe blade, and only a wharncliffe blade. (A single-bladed knife). I know that many patterns have a wharncliffe in addition to other blades, but I'm only looking for the one blade. Blade length should be around 2.5" to 3.5" long. I can't really get it custom-made on my budget (about $40).

Great question...

Maybe ask it in the "Traditional" sub forum where the knowledge may be more concentrated. :)

Here's a pic of my Case Wharncliffe Trapper with SS blade, red plastic scales. It is a very neat little knife.

I see some here that might fit the bill, the A. Wright and Trevor Ablett folders. No idea of how good these are, but they seem nice enough.

Case and Victorinox are the two makers I can think of right off the top of my head. IIRC, Target sells the Vic in a double package along with a ?Tinker?.

Yeah, although I think it is the Hiker.
Target ticks me off- they put locks one their knife shelves, so I have to go get an employee If I want to get a knife.
Never had problems buying at Target before- but people are ignorant and some people might not get knives for a 14 year old, regardless of how tall I am, I still look like a kid.

where's Vince (VCM) when you need him????????

send VCM a PM. I bet he can help.
