Here is my second slipjoint. I am hooked on folding knives:)

ATS34 with elk (the elk shed was found right behind by house:))

Any comments or critiques welcomed. Thanks for looking.

Edit: This is also my first time playing with the light box, any tips would be appreciated.

Sean, It's not bad at all for your second folder, I've done a little over one hundred an I still learn something from each knife I make. strive for perfection, an one day you'll get real close or maybe make it, I'm still trying. good luck.----Joe Allen!

Sean,
Nice looking folder for sure.
I am intrigued, I didn't know KY had elk. I'm pretty sure we don't in IN, but know that Michigan does.

That turned out good, really like the elk on that 1.
Cheers

Thanks for the comments guys.

Joe,
I never realized there are some many variables involved in a slipjoint, but I think thats why I like it so much, it is a challenge to say the least.

John,
Ky restocked elk (they were hunted out of the state by the time of the civil war) started in 1996 and our herd is very strong. They are still a draw hunt but this year the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife issued about 150 permits.

Sean yu've delved into a different world with slipjoints. I once had a collector come
over to pick up a delta ground fighter he had ordered and showed him a lockback
I had made and his reaction was so-so. I asked him what was the matter and he said
for him it was kind of sad being a collector of fighters cause he never seen anyone
go back to straight blades after some success with folders. Keep at it slippies are a
challenge thats what makes them so much fun.

Just a note on the Elk , Ky. does have a big herd in the eastern part of the state, it's so big there starting to have some hunting for them now, as for In. were outa luck, there is a small herd in Pike County In. ,there raised for meat to sell, an there enclosed in fences.
