When I got into knives, I went straight for the tactical blades. Started out with all of the Chinese no name brands, moved up to Cold Steel etc. I diverged into slipjoints here and there, but stayed true on course all the way up to the Chris Reeves and Striders.

I always came back to the slipjoints and old timey blades. After getting out and using these blades, I've decided I prefer these.

Right now, my only knife interests are slipjoints and custom bushcraft/woodcraft style blades. I still have a few one hand openers, but they sit on the shelf, and when my truck gets on the road, they will probably ride along in my glove box. The bulk of my remaining collection is slipjoints and custom bushcraft style blades.

Let's see your traditional custom bush/woodcraft blades paired with some slipjoints. Your Kephart with a two blade jack for example. A Nessmuk with a moose or muskrat pattern. A Hudsons Bay camp knife with a peanut ;).

I know you guys and gals have some good combos out there. This is a little different from the other slipjoint/fixed blade pairing thread, because I am requesting custom fixed blades.

Good idea for a thread. Here's a couple that I like. The fixed blades are by Burt Foster and Mace Vitale. I edc one of these small fb almost everyday.
