Hello, I'm looking for a very British knife style of kinfe that I can carry around legaly. I just wanted to know what some of the greatest slipjoints are without breaking the bank... I would say £60 max. I like the look of the Buck Alpha Hunter but unfortunately it locks... Something nice and classy, sliver bolsters with wooden scales is what I'm talking about.

PS. Did anyone find out what the knife was from James Bond Skyfall?

Any Swiss Army type folder you fancy would do the trick. Lots of nice traditional patterns to choose from as well... GEC, Case, Boker and many many more! For something a little more modern, check out the Spyderco catalogue...

Here are a couple o' nice Boker 'Beer Barrel' folders in carbon steel...

Good luck, fella! :)

Spyderco makes a knife called the UK Penknife. It was made to follow UK's guidelines and they range from $38-$150 on my favored site. That would be about 24-94 pounds according to google. Most of the models fit in your price range and they should be legal for you, just depends if you like the look. They make some other slipjoints as well too. They call them "SLIPIT" knives.
Any Victorinox or Case knife I would also recommend to you as well for a high quality slip joint.

The following picture belongs to bladehq.com. This is one of the models of the UK Penknife.

Yeah, I do like the spyderco's. I just wanted something a little more old fashioned and classy.

Case swayback jack always reminded me of a "British" knife for some reason. It's probably one of Case's best patterns to boot.

Look for one of the old G10 spyderco UKPK, I love mine. I was able to find mine for $50 shiped, just look around and find a good deal. Good luck!

^ he has already said he doesn't want a Spyderco. He wants something with nickle silver bolster, and an old fashioned traditional slipjoint.

Dennis, check out some Case knives at dealer sites. They have several under the $60 price you mention. They make a very good knife for the price, and have a great warranty, and CS.
I feel the Tony Bose designed Swayback Jack with CV steel, and chesnut bone is one of the best buys out there. I, and many in the traditional room have bought one, and everyone has been impressed with the fit and finish. They also have alot of other models you may like.

The bottom one is the SBJ.

I'm not sure what makes a knife look British, but I have to second what has been said already about that Case Swayback Jack. It's one of the nicest looking slipjoints on the market.

The Queen City Classic Cutlery Ebony English Jack I've lusted after also. Gorgeous slipjoint and has "English" right in its name!
