Slippery Handles

I have been practicing with my new BM 42S constantly for the las few days. Twice now it has slipped from my hands. The first time it almost cut my earphones. A few minutes ago I put a hole in my mother's new linolium floor, CRAP! Anybody else have this problem? Any help would be nice.

I sometimes just have "one of those days". Like I pull off a spectacular manipulation, then I'll stop and accidentally drop it while not doing anything

I understand what you are going through. It does take getting used to does'nt it? The only think I might suggest is to use the finger excersizes demonstrated on Clays site, they really help your fingers find a way to hold on to the knife no matter what, and Practice, Practice, Practice

If you wish to put a better grip on the handles and are willing to pay a price you can have them beadblasted.

If you have sweaty hands it will definitely get slippery. You could wait for those black coated BM balis, i'd bet the grip would be better.

42's are pretty slippery. I have the hardest time holding onto my bali when my hands are too dry. I fix this by manipulating really hard for about 5 minutes, at which time my hands are too sweaty.

There's not much way around it accept finger exercises and grippier (is that a word?) handles.

I was the handles in very HOT soapy water and dry completely, then they are not as slippery....

Hey, great tip Gary. Thanks!

It lasts a while, it removes the oils that your hands impart....I try to keep the HOT soapy water from the pivot areas and the HOT handles are nice and grippy when dried!
