Slippery slope?

Haven't posted to BF in awhile. Recently I have made a couple purchases. Years ago I acquired a BM cqc7 in trade. Was looking at it a couple weeks ago. It got me looking at the Emerson website and saw he had a new flipper on bearings. Wants won the battle with needs, and now I have a stonewashed bowie plain edge sheepdog. All I can say is WOW! This is my first Emerson from Emerson. Fast forward to less than a week later...I can't take looking at it any longer on the website...BAM...cqc15 black with partial serrations on order. I think I hit the slippery slope with Emersons. Something so simple about them and even with being overbuilt I just don't feel the weight. Yet it feels so solid in the hand. I might be in trouble.

You're done, it's a one way street when you go down emerson street, and it ain't looking pretty for your wallet, in a good way.

Yea....one turned into 20 a little fast for me.

I can't even imagine how it turned out for some who have 30+ in their possession.

Yeah, you're hooked now. One turned into many for me as well. EKI is really cranking out some cool stuff this last year.

You have come to realize the Ernest has a perfect knife formula down-pat.

Good thing is, it's not CRKs at $450 a pop. Double the trouble there.

The partially-serrated 15 is my EDC. You will love that thing, too. My personal favorite Emerson.

I have owned about every brand and ALOT of customs. Hands down my favorite knife and company is Emerson. I like everything about them.

The only folder that I will rotate with my HD7 is my Dozier Workhorse. I have come to love D2 tool steel.
This Dozier guys has a nice knife formula also.

not my pic, btw. They belong to someone who bought a knife from me a while back :D

Gooeytek, that picture makes me sick. What an amazing collection. But, seriously, how many sixes does one need?

As said by a few, 15's are a good choice. I have my BTS with me today. The slope can get very slippery very very quickly! I have hit the 45 mark in my collection. I just realized I bought 18 Emersons already this year:o.

Yeah, I was thinking of making a similar post. Never a big fan of the wave feature and therefore never plunged into the Emerson pool. That changed last weekend when I picked up a ZT 0620CF. As of today I have a Mini CQC-15, partially serrated black, and a CQC-7AW both on their way to me. I should have them in hand by the middle of the week. And I'm already looking at the CQC-8 and mini roadhouse.

(edit: to clarify my comment, I didn't think I liked the wave in the past although I had never owned a knife with that feature. Now as of Monday, if UPS is to believed, I will be the proud owner of 1 ZTE and 2 Emerson knives all with the wave. I now understand)

Why not a fan of the wave? Makes a great thumb rest when using, and if you're holding something in one hand that needs opening (or whatever) you can take it out of your pocket and open it up at the same time. What's not to like about that?

Not trying to sound like a jerk, please do not take it that way. Is it just the appearance of it, or what is it specifically that you do not like about the wave feature? Just curious...

I had one Emerson for two years then bought 8 in the last 3 months. They are like crack!

I wasn't a fan of it, now I am. I do not like flippers, I'm sort of old fashioned plus the flipping motion aggravates tendonitis in my elbow. I never liked the look of the wave and didn't see why I needed my knife to open up as I pulled it from my pocket. I lumped in in with flippers as something I didn't want. Sort of like how I didn't think I liked mushrooms as a kid even though I had never tried them.

Now I do like the wave and the 2 Emerson's I have on their way to me both have the wave feature. I guess I could have been clearer with my comment.

PS I didn't take your comment as anything other than a genuine question, had you come off as a "jerk" I would have ignored it.
