OK, I only own one folder, a lg classic Sebbie. Well,2, a Buck 110 that I haven't seen in 10 yrs. LOL

Besides the Sebbie, pretty much everything else is a Busse.

My Dad likes a SMALL pocket knife <2" or so for blade length and a 2 bladed style of carbon steel. Sort of like a Peanut, but in carbon.

Any suggestions? If it is too rich, he simply won't carry it and put it in his safe. I got that impression when I showed him my Sebbie. Besides size, he just wouldn't drop a $300+ knife in his pocket and thought I was crazy for doing so. It's in a belt sheath, but nevermind, you know how Dad's are.

He's 79, I'm 59. Looking for something quality, but not so rich that he will lock it away.

Thanks
Rob

How about a Case peanut in CV(chrome vanadium).
2 7/8 inches closed.the red is probably deeper in color than the photo.

Schatt & Morgan pen knife fits the bill.

Some sort of barlow would work as well.

Thanks! Be checking the Case out! S&M looks good, but not sure if he will carry it.

Yaknowwhatimean?

If you decide to get the Case and the S&M and your Father won't carry the Schatt you can send it to me and I will carry it for him. Just a suggestion ;)

Boker also makes some cool small patterns in carbon as well, I just bought a trapper in carbon, and am anxiously awaiting its arrival!

If you and he like carbon steel, check out the Case Redbone CV and the Case Amber lines of knives. Lots of CV knives to choose from, there.

As mentioned, the Peanut is a great choice, as is a Pen and Small Stockman. I just bought a Mini Hunter for a friend. It's a small knife, but the 2 finger grooves on the handle make is very servicable. Having only one blade, it fits well in the pocket. Here is a version in Redbone CV . The one I bought was in Caribbean Blue, which is striking, but only comes in Stainless Steel--I thought that's what he might prefer. At 3", the Small Texas Toothpick is not too large, gives a lot of blade for the handle length, and is slim, with only one blade/backspring.

Check out the two blade Case XX Canoe patterns in CV, the master blade is only 2 1/4 and this very slim pocket knife sits so fine in ones pocket. They can be had for less than 40.USD, and they are sooo purdy too..

Here is one I have in Chestnut Bone.

Over in the Busse forum, you would be known as a 'giver'. LOL

No offense, I've offered my services as a 'giver' a few times. LOL Not too many knives like to be locked away.

So far, either the Peanut or Mini Trapper looks like they will fill the bill.

Talked to my cousin earlier and he thought my Dad had a Mini Trapper, perhaps a Peanut, but 2 bladed and small. Not a Stockman because that's what he carries and he was sure it wasn't a 3 bladed knife.

To the dealers tomorrow! There are 2 within 1 mile of my house. Never would have figured that for a small town in S.C. LOL

Things ARE different up here!

Thanks Guys for the suggestions, links, and pics.

When I was in Myrtle Beach, S.C. in September, I hit the Bass Pro Shop to look at Case knives. They didn't have any of the peanuts I was wanting and the sales guy told me their Case knives sell so fast they can't hardly keep 'em in stock. Seems like South Carolinians know a good knife. :)

(BTW, if your dad doesn't LOVE the redbone CV peanut that navihawk posted, I'll eat a bug.)

How about a CASE Amber Bone Mini Copperhead No.257? There's a Wharncliffe blade on offer too (but stainless, worth losing prejudice for this one)

Otherwise, a CASE Pen-Knife No.109 in yellow handle CV or maybe the CASE Medium Jack No.220 in black handle working-knife series?

Perhaps something from the Camillis Yello Jaket series if you can still snap one up?

Well, the local seed and feed store had the Case, Green Mini Trapper and that's what I snagged.

Not CV, but the size is right and I think He'll like the color. I do. Very So Fla. LOL

Thanks Guys! I think this will be perfect.
