Slippy Hike Today !

As I indulged in a little too much christmas cheer last night I figured I should do a tough hike today to make up for it !

I tried to go pretty lightweight today wearing some superlight Berghaus pants, Salomon mid hikers, a Helly hansen base layer and my Swannie top.

The trail was just a nightmare today, super slippery underfoot.

I'd even tried keeping the weight down with my knife as well and had taken my SwampWarden.

Snicker is like a little mountain goat and must have covered twice the distance that me and Maisy did.

Maisy was really dragging her ass today but she was letting rip with some right stinkers so I think her stomach may have been a little off. She looks very deep in thought in this pic, her face seems to get more grey with every hike we do !!!

Wow Pit, it looks like it doesn't matter which way you would try and go, it all looks like glass . . :eek: You, Mist, & Moose all have some gorgeous countryside to go and play in when you can, great shots as always . . . at least this time I found Snicker on the first pass-thru of the shots . . . :D

Where'd you get that Swanni? I dig the colours, but that colour isn't on the Swanni website.

That's what I was thinking, soon, Maisy will be sporting flannel pullovers, and have a grey beard. :D

Love thos views, what was the temp out? Down low, it looked like it was more wet, than frozen, but the elevation certainly changed that. Nice hike Pit.

I got it off Evil Bay, a store owner had got hold of some old stock from when they were still made in New Zealand.

According to the weather website it says it is 7 degrees but I've just been out to chop some wood and it feels much colder than that !:confused:
 
I think I could sit and look out across that lake view for a good long time. Possibly not today bbbrrrrrrrr but with a little warmer temp up there.

Great pics Pitdog. You live in a great place. Good to see ya getting out. Sometimes I get pretty cranky during the Holidays, and need to get away for a bit. Plus the calorie burn alone is worth it.
 
Sorry to hear Maisy is slowing down. She's such an active canine explorer! Could it be the cold is getting to her?

She was racing round today, I think it was just that her stomach was a little off yesterday. She can still give Snicker a run for her money when she wants to !;):thumbup:
