I just got a 811 Workman off of the bay, and wow is it sloppy. The knife was never used, no scratches or wear of any kind. The blade has all kinds of play, both open and closed. I was wondering if it would be possible to fix this given the fact that they are no longer made? Thanks any help is greatly appreciated

My guess is if it hasnt been modified it should be covered under the 4ever warranty-send it back or call cust svc to verify.

Spike, were you planning on that being a user?

If so, you may want to look for one of the fixed blade version mod 820.

Better email Joe before you send it in.

Not really Pack Rat, It just bothers me that it is so loose. I got it to complete my 800 collection, I have 2 812's, one 813 and wanted the 811. I had 4 820's but gave two away. I was just using one today to cut up some old vinyl flooring i was demoing at the new house i bought. I know where there is an 810 with the leather sheath i might pickup this weekend if the guy still has it. I wish buck would do another workman series, I love those knives. Other than the ones listed above part of my buck collection includes 3 110 workmans(one has the nickle silver bolsters) 1 nsfg 112 workman and 4 426 grey handle workmans.

A pic of these would be cool. I have a minty 820 but is the only one of these I have seen until I looked up your 811. But haven't a clue what the others look like.

Maybe some of the guys will kick in that know for sure, but I think Cabelas may be carrying a line of the workman Bucks.

If you haven't, go ahead and email Joe and see if he thinks your 811 can be fixed.

And I forgot to say that this 820 could possibly be the sharpest out of the box, buck, that I own.

here you go guys. There is a 426 new in package missing from the shot. My wife had put away for my b day present. The other 820 is missing also (at my other house). The 820 aren't marked workmans though and are overseas made. Any body have any workmmans they want to trade. I have a nib 0395bks-b black folding omni hunter, some Harley zippos, and some USA made schrade and Westerns i would be willing to trade. I know this should be in the trading section, but since i want Workmans i thought i would put it here. Thanks guys.

Well,,,looks like I was suckered, I guess. My box says 820, but now I see the tang stamp says Buck 810/ USA

Nice pics Spike! Thanks!

I have one of those ns reddish 110's that used to say workman, till it had to go back to Buck and came back home with a non workman blade. Thats ok tho I guess.

here's the 810 that I thought was an 820 like the box says...grrrr
I need new readers or a big magnifier...:o

click on the pic a couple of times .

That nickel silver finger groove 112 is ODD/RARE for sure! Could it be a re-blade??? NS/FG 112's came with a tan sheath and retail over 50.00 and I belive workmans were a 'bargin price' item..,.My best guess it's a employe Buck..

That 112 did come with the tan sheath, and in my opinion is the sweetest one in the bunch. I am not sure about the bargain pricing. The 812 was my first Buck knife, I think i was 11 or 12. I somehow talked my mom into buying it for me(all downhill from there) The local department store(boscovs) sold them in their tool section. I even had a workman toolpouch but don't know what happened to that. I carried that knife whenever i worked with my dad. I remember on one job the customer saw my Buck kniife and showed me his 120, i knew someday i would have to get one of those steel beauties.Funny that it took me 20 years though until my wife got me a pro line for x-mas one year and a 119(she's a great wife).I hate to admit but i got away from Buck knives for a couple of years. The Westerns had my attention for a long time, and the edcing Gerbers(big mistake) for awhile. Somehow about 2 years ago i got the Buck fever again and will never return to my others.

i had 812 that the blade went backwards past locking
sent it in and was sent a diff knife..
issues is the peaned blade pin i am told
to remove most all the times cracks the sides..
some times the blades will fit in a brass frame..
