To all:

Due to health reasons, one of the participants registered for this year's Martial Blade Camp had to cancel. This leaves one room available and up to two slots (rooms are double occupancy) for anyone interested in participating.

The 2004 camp will be conducted at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado, from 10-13 September 2004. This three-day training program will cover aspects of MBC levels 1-4, standard and reverse-grip knife tactics, Counter-Blade Concepts (empty-hand defenses against edged-weapon attacks), defensive use of the walking cane, joint-lock tactics, and Filipino stick work.

Accommodations for the 2004 event are at the Wind River Lodge, one of the YMCA's newer lodges that features two queen-sized beds, a full private bath and a balcony or patio with each room. In addition to full participation in all Martial Blade Camp training, camp participants will receive three all-you-can-eat meals per day and have free access to the YMCA's other activities, including: hiking, fishing, tennis, volleyball, basketball, softball, weight training, and indoor swimming. Additional activities including golf, mountain biking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, and rock climbing are also available for additional fees.

The YMCA of the Rockies is located 65 miles northwest of Denver, five miles southwest of the town of Estes Park, Colorado. One of the premiere conference centers in the western United States, it is located adjacent to Rocky Mountain National Park and features some of the most breathtaking scenery in North America.

The price of Martial Blade Camp 2004 is $800 per person for double-occupancy lodging or $1,000 per person for single-occupancy lodging. In addition to full participation in all training, lodging, meals, and access to all YMCA activities, the price of the camp also includes the following commemorative items, which have a combined retail value of almost $350.00:

- A laser-engraved commemorative Masters of defense Tempest knife
- A commemorative embroidered camp polo shirt
- A Cold Steel City Stick walking cane
- A white waxwood training cane
