Back in late 2000, I placed an order with Uncle Bill for a Tin Chirra with a carved handle. What I got was as close to khukuri perfection as I've ever seen.

While today was a bit slow on the forum and I had a nice clear day, I took a break from working on a fence to get some bad photos to share:

In the hand for Warty:

Made By Bura, it handles like a combat knife but chops like a hatchet. 18 inches, I need to weight it but I think it was 29 0z. 7/16 at the bloster and it tapers well to reduce the bulk.

Honestly, I'm thinking I could use one of these in a less decorative version that I wouldn't feel so bad about using.

Don't see these often so I hope you enjoy my horrible photography :)

A beautiful and somewhat rare piece. Thanks for sharing!
You may want to put it on display duty. I'm not sure how many were made with both fullering and carving. With Bura's health as it is, it would be impossible to replace.

Karda I agree, it has seen an easy life for the past nine years or so. It now comes out when I feel like marveling at how well it was made.

Thank you for the pics. I could spend all day looking at khuks. That is an absolutely beautiful piece of functional art.

Fuller perfection! And very light for an 18" length.

Question for all: has there been a kuk with more than 3 fullers? I am guessing such fullers would have to be pretty thin relative to those on an YCS or an FF, but still if you have a pic to share...

I did ask Auntie about making a chaar (4) Chirra and apparently it's very difficult to make one presentable. Forcing 4 fillers into a blade....Aesthetically yes, functionally....i wonder.

Nice pix, thank you for sharing
