Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that it's been really slow around bladeforums lately?

Few new threads or replies, few people "hanging out", few knives for sale or trade...

Perhaps, since the weather is getting better, people have better things to go do than hang out on the forum?

I noticed that as well......who knows....since it is nicer outside, if I had the time, & I didn't have to watch my young one.....I sure wouldn't be one the computer...I would be outside.

I've noticed it too. Well mostly last night and today. Probably is do to the nice weather. Probably is better to spend time out side in the fresh air then spend all your time infront of the computer. Especially since the college coeds have taken to sun bathing out side in my area.:D:p hee hee hee

It is spring break week for public schools in NC and I bet we're not the only State where that is the case. Which means a lot of families are on vacation right now. I bet things will be back up to speed by next week.

Heber ! You better just stay in the house and do your computer work and web site updates, you certainly don't need those kinds of distractions do you ! , On second thought, you may have to move, because this will never work, you will never get your web site done at this rate. :p . Keep you curtains pulled and I will have someone checking to see if your peepin throught the cutains.

I think that the shutdowns might have turned some people off, that's when it looked like things started slowing a little.....

Maybe the market of knives in general is going slower this time of year. Then again, seeing as we're getting into outdoors season you'd think there would be more fixed blade questions. I'm sure there'll be some good chatter after the Michigan show next weekend.

Ahhhh! I miss college sometimes! (10 years ago.)

I remember one time this time of year in the dorms...
About 10 girls were sunbathing outside on the grass and you got a good view outside the dorm windows. A couple outdoor-type guys had binoculars!

That was until a bunch of nerds made this big banner on their computer that said, "SHOW US YOUR T***S", and hung it out the windows and then all the girls left within a minute afterward. :grumpy:

Dang! That's why they call'em nerds...

Guess so. I tried to dissuade them, but I was outnumbered since I was the only non-nerd (I hope :D ) in that particular dorm room, but they all looked at me like I WAS THE NERD!

Most of the wrestling team lived on that floor too and there was almost nerd soup that afternoon!

Could it be the economy? The middle class in this country is shrinking, and it could be that allot of people do not have the discretionary income to collect knives any more. There is no use in reading about what you can't afford to buy.

I think that if the middle class is shrinking, I think we would see a more gradual taper. As far as the weather, it's not the same everywhere - in April there are plenty of rainy days... I think Walking Man is probably right. After the crashes it seems like the forum lost some of it's steam.

Weather is getting warmer, tax time grew very close, our sex lives improved [nevermind], Crashes of the knife related forums caused a temporary depressive state making us hate the internet, no one is interested in selling or buying right now, our interest in knives is shadowed by our interest in other things [like sex].

AND finally..................We all forgot our password????

the last few weekends has been spent underneath old cars. Two weekends ago I did the front brakes on my wife's '65 Valiant. Last weekend I got the motor ready to put back into my '65 VW. Yesterday I mounted the oil filter and remote oil cooler as well as taking a Sawz-all to the firewall so the dual exhaust would clear. I've just been too tired to surf the forums all night long.

Hi WT,

Actually when you have fewer dollars to spend, that is the time you should be doing more research. Utilize places like BF and other internet forums. That way you will get the most knife for your money.

Warm weather, tax time, spring break, service disruptions, Im sure these all contribute to some degree.

I still read daily, but haven't had much to say. I've got about every production knife I had the hots for and not much new has come out lately. Customs are just too expensive for me to jump into on a regular basis so I've been spending more time in my shop tinkering. Perhaps soon I'll actually try to make a few knives. Then I'll have something to yak about.

John

I haven't had much to say about knives lately, although i look here as often as i can. When i pick up some new models i might regain some more knife enthusiasm.

The damned yard work has been keeping me away from the forums the last few days :grumpy:
