Slowly, but surely, I'm getting more Beckers...

Now have a BK9 and it's BK13 (USA, black coated), BK10, and on layaway, a BK16. Add to that a "few" Ka-Bars, all, like the Beckers, fixed blades.

I don't regret getting my two D2 Extremes, though if I'd known of the efficacy of carbon steel over all others, vis-à-vis survival purposes, "bright and shiny" would not have been in the mix...

So far, the wonderful Welke's have made my recon scout rigs for my BK9 and are in process of making same, for my BK10. Will now have same made for the BK16, next month... LARGE, Medium, small, and smallest... BK9, BK10, BK16, BK13. For game, a Bacon Maker, #5601...

What Becker knives do you all recommend, for any holes in my small collection, to be best served, survival-wise?

I look forward to your suggestions...

Thanks!

You’re mostly covered, but the Becker Reinhardt bowie comes to mind for an xl blade.

I agree, a 4, and 5. But I will also add a 24 since that is discontinued and a BK11 too.

The 24 and 11 would work nicely for EDC uses. Especially the toothy edge that D2 takes.

Doesn't matter really, you're already hooked, and will have the rest in no time, haha, like most of us. :D

Welcome to the forum, glad to have you here.

The 4 and 5. Get them while you still can.

Yup; what he said.

While the 5 and the 15 are my favorites, and "you can't not have a Nine" there's something to be said about a BK2. Indestructible, versatile, handy, stout ... I think you get it - there's something about a 2.

I'd say get a 4 if there were any easy to find any more.

Getting a 2 will cover a many thing to do. Its not a one shot fancy fu-fu- featherer or uberlite tin foil type. Its a stout jack of all trades heavy use knife.

A 7 would cover most of what's in becker heaven.

I suggest a spare 16 as it is probably the most usable belt slinger for general carry every where. As the other one will be also where its important to have one.

Thank-You All for the warm welcome...

Looked at what Amazon had in the models you all suggested. WOW! One "offering" for a BK5 showed a BK9, and had BK9 dimensions listed! All featured are no longer available, but with a few exceptions. Those I'll set aside funds for. Especially the BK11, with Micarta scales, and if possible, AZWelke sheath... Add to this, the BK15, likewise, with micarta scales, and AZWelke sheath... (Yes, I'm totally sold on AZWelke's sheaths, scabbards... Wonder if they would do a sheath for my Hanwei Bamboo Mat Wakizashi? After a stroke in '14, I can no longer wield a Katana...)

However, everyone wants the Monarch of the Herd, and for me, that will be saving for a BK5... IF you can find one, they're North of $200... When my ship comes in, if the dock doesn't rot first, I'll make sure one of my kids gets one... Maybe both of them... One can, but dream...

As soon as my daughter shows me how to post photos, I'll put up a few pics of what I've got so far... Right now, she's helping harvest her husband's grandparents corn crop...

Again, my thanks for your input. This is one of the few forums that I've encountered that was truly worthwhile, and that I decided to become a subscriber... You all are a treasure! I've had many knives- blades of all kinds, in my sixty-eight years. It's nice to finally go with the "gold standard" of combat and survival knives...

God Bless You All...
