Model 4443A... great knife, smoooooooth opener, but seems a bit sluggish. I cleaned, looked for lint, put a dab of Tuff Oil on it, didn't seem to help. Was pretty quick new. Knife is still 'like new'. Any suggestions?

It seems in my experience that certain flipper designs have a blade that is too heavy for it to flip without any "wrist action" involved.

I have the G10 version of the one you listed and the blue swirl, limited-edition version of the Tomcat KI4450A-3. It is the same way.

I don't see how anything can be done to allow it to "button-press" or "light switch flick" to improve them.

If you are trying to open them in a discreet manner. You can try the "wrist-twist" method. But they will still make some noise that way.

Regardless of this, they are great knives to carry and use.

I had one of these briefly- I remember that if you have any pressure at all on the lockbar it was really hard to open... like even just resting your finger on it would cause problems. And this knife is so thin it is hard not to have your finger on it!

I have the 4443A1, Liner Lock G10 version, and its a little sluggish flipping. I think it's a blade weight issue like GCG199 pointed out above.

I've never really carried mine all that much and the pivot seems a little stiff, but I usually have to give a little wrist flick to get it to open. Judging from the tightness of the pivot, it might loosen up in time. At the time I bought the knife, I picked it up for around $70, so a sluggish flip seemed acceptable. The Ti version costs a lot more though.
