So we have the Techno. We all know about the Bowie. But what I really want to know is when am I going to see these two:

Framelock Swayback:

SpydeChef:

It seems that many future opportunities are popping up. When the Techno first came out, there were so many haters I thought we'd never see anything from this designer made by Spyderco ever again. I am go glad I was wrong.

"If" might be a more appropriate question than "when". A number of knifemakers are licensed to use the Spyderhole opener. Not every custom they use it on becomes a collaboration. Some are never offered and, some are offered but not accepted. If the maker describes it as a prototype, it may just mean they intend to make it one of their regular offerings, rather than something that is one of a kind.

Those look super nice. I'd buy that spydechef in a second! (Depending on the price..)

I think the upcoming Bowie is currently my most anticipated offering...

I would love it if the Swayback was in Sals sights even more, I think. I am loving the mashup of modern materials on the classic design.

The Swayback would most likely get more carry, for my uses.

When is the Bowie coming out??
It's not in the 2014 catalog, or the 2014 Mid-Year Supplement. While that does not preclude it hitting the streets next week or sometime in the next six months, it does make 2015 or later more likely.

I think I like both of those designs over the techno and bowtie. Not that they're not cool.

Thanks for the info. I had ZERO idea of eta. Glad to have a rough idea now. Thanks again. I guess now I look for something else to fill the void. Sad.

I want that SpydeChef more than any knife I've ever looked at!! That Swayback would also be purchased. As my Techno is my current favorite Spydie, I would LOVE to see more of Marcin's designs come into production. Can't wait to see what pops up!

I agree. There's also a flipper version of the Bowie that I posted on a Bowie thread.

He really has some great designs. I love the ones in this thread. Especially the chef.

Some amazing ones here:
