I could barely restrain myself. This particular model is under $20 from a very well known seller- new at full retail. Bad enough to sell crap, but to mark it up THREE TIMES it's retail price and tack on the cost of a six pack is reprehensible, imo. I'll be watching this to see if it gets removed (sold). Maybe I should contact the seller and offer $20 swords for $40, after all, he seems to think this is worth $65.. :D

Not so much that, the fact that somebody is trying to get $65 for it. Not everyone is aware of what a "bad sword' truly is, many of us started with no knowledge and bought quite a bit of junk before we knew what to look for, stuff like this really gets under my skin. Bad enough that somebody would actually pay $20 for a "$20 sword", but to know that some jerk is trying to get $65 for a $20 sword is even worse. It's not that I find $20 swords interesting (other than from a purely aesthetical aspect, or that fact that like most here I'm pretty much going to notice anything that says "sword" anywhere, even Craigslist. )

Thank you! I've been lurking around here for many years now and just joined a little while back. In fact this may be my first post I don't remember lol I am 43 and I've been into pretty much anything with a blade "especially swords" since before I was 10 and like you said this type of thing just burns me up! I see it all the time "especially at flea markets" people ripping some poor person off because they didn't know any better. Also all those antique replicas out there. I know its usually not the buyers fault because they just don't know any better. We were all that way at one time. However I will admit to owning a couple of Cold Steel katana machetes cause they are just fun as hell to play with and are darn near indestructible. LOL But even those I got for a below average mkt price :-D

What rankles is knowing that some POS is going to rip off some hopeful person who is just at the beginning of their journey. Most of us started out with limited means and only the knowledge that came from reading historical and fantasy novels. In the days before the internet, I used to look at the Atlanta Cutlery catalog (as least I think that's what it was, it was well over 30 years ago) as much as I looked at my comic books. I remember that my Cold Steel catalogs from my poor student days were as well thumbed as other guys' Maxim mags--though I at least had the hope I could score something out of my magazine. I remember that feeling, and the fact that some jerk is using that to rip off the noobs is repugnant. There is no downside for the con artists, since there is no real punishment. I think what we need is not Kaotik smacking HIS head, I would rather that the Brutal Facepalm went to the vendor, free of charge. It's too bad that more people don't actually take some time to research before buying, and put these clowns out of business--though if my wife would only stop calling my research "knife porn" I would be a happy man.

That's true. Noobs today do have the huge advantage of the internet. I also remember Atlanta Cutlery catalog. Honesty had forgot all about them until you mentioned it. Brought back some fond memories :-) I also remember the first time I got my hands on a Cold Steel catalog. I also remember thinking "holy shit how will I ever afford anything from this company " lol I wanted a Cold Steel knife soooo bad flipping through the constantly desperately trying to find something I could afford. I remember the first Cold Steel I ever scored was the "Urban Pal". Ordered it out of The Edge Co catalog remember them? They sold automatic knives in "kit form" in order to get around laws of selling autos. lol

You guys bring back some memories..yes, this is exactly what I was trying to say. I'm sure there's more than one of us here who used to salivate over flipping through offerings from BudK or Smokey Mountain Knife Works, not to mention the catalogs already mentioned.. the plain fact is you just don't know any better until you actually know better. The overwhelming amount of junk being offered says somebody is buying it, think if all of those poor folks knew better. Also "knife porn".. I like it. :D

You fellas might as well get used to it, it's the way of the world.:) Buy a car, house, boat, etc, and then set down and figure out what you REALLY paid for it.

College, just saying, I could have bought a car, a house, and a boat for what that cost me. There will always be someone to buy the cheap flea market stuff. On the bright side, there will also always be someone dumb enough to use it and post the video on Youtube. :p
