Kaz,
So, you've been to Europe with your Small Classic 2000? That's nice to hear! Even though it has a blade of under 3 inches in length, I was still a little concerned about confiscation. (We mostly go to France and Switzerland.) My father in law told me about a sign he saw in a US airport in the international section, before a European trip. It was a huge hand holding a very small SAK. The sign read, "If you have a knife THIS big, put it in your checked baggage". (This was right after some terrorist event.) However, I called CR Knives yesterday with a question about blades.
Bridget said someone would call me back with the answer. 15 minutes later, the phone rang. A voice said, "This is Chris Reeve". I stammered out my question, and he answered it. Then I told him of my concerns regarding taking my Small Sebenza to Europe. He seemed to get a little angry..."If somone trys to take your Small Sebenza, DEMAND a receipt for it's ILLEGAL"! He was HOT! He also told me that he "travels in an out of Europe all the time with a Small Classic 2000 Sebenza". The man says that Sebenzas are legal, he's sure of it!
It was a treat to talk to Chris himself. It always surprises me when the owner of a great manufacturing company calls me personally. I've been really lucky about that. Larry Seecamp has called me a couple of times. Both times, it just blew me away!
