ive looked at the sog twitch 2....Kershaw leek(this would be largest I would maybe go..but smaller would be better)....also looked at Kershaw chive....any others out there I should look at?.....and which one is the best for 50 bucks?

Does it have to be assisted? Take a look at the Kershaw Nura 3.0.

Also, the Cryo is a great little knife. There's a G-10 version right in your price range.

Have the cryo. Great steel and solid weight, but I am getting rid of it. The blade was never centered and after trying to swap and replace spacers and washers, the handle screws are stripped. The spacers washers shredded, making the action all sticky.
I want to love it for the size weight and price performance ratio, but I just don't
My next cheap edc is going to be the unassisted rat 2

Twitch II is a great knife. My only problem was slippery metal handles. If the scale opposite the clip was grippier than smooth aluminum, it's almost perfect for me, but it's not, so I sold both of mine. i still think of getting a 3rd and trying again. I have no exp with the wood handled version, and that might do it.

I wouldn't go with the Leek unless it's for light office duties. I EDCed it before I got my Griptilian, and I was scared to cut a box open with it for fear that the tip would snap off.

I definitely recommend the Cryo G10. I posted a review of it on my non-Blade Forums blog (link in my signature) if you want the details of my experience with it. My little G10 has been shifted out of EDC by a knife that cost about 10 times as much, but the Cryo G10 is still my go to when travelling. It's a very good little knife, and a much more capable slicer than I expected. My only complaints were that I wish the blade was a half inch longer and that the jimping was a little more aggressive, but it doesn't sound like the size would be an issue for you.

Any special reason that it has to be AO? The US made Kershaw Zing would be a good choice if you remove the need for AO.

I can vouch for the Leek...I have experience with the composite blade model. I think it's among the best for the $$$.

Kershaw oso sweet is a good little knife. Opens nicely, good ergos for it's size. Might suit you

If you are looking for a USA made low priced EDC knife, look at the Kershaw Blur. It goes for around $60.

I wouldn't worry too much about the tip. I dropped mine tip down on ceramic tile. It just bent the very tip. Bent it back, sharpened it, and it's gtg.

Plus, if you break it, kershaw replaces blades for $10. So don't worry about it. Use it like you stole it.

14c28n is actually pretty damn good steel. Very very good, and for the price, I don't think it can be beat. For a sub $50 knife, I think it's the best unless you can find something in s30v on sale. I liked the composite kershaw blades back when the d2 was from cpm. Now that it's just standard d2, I'd skip on it and just get the standard 14c28n.

(Been EDCing a leek at work for the past 2 years. I'm and engineer and do everything from breaking down boxes to scraping carboxylates off of hard tool steels. I need a fine cutting edge and refined point for what I do, and I don't use it for chopping and battoning.)

I wouldn't go with the Leek unless it's for light office duties. I EDCed it before I got my Griptilian, and I was scared to cut a box open with it for fear that the tip would snap off.

my buddy just got the leek and I got to say it feels good...anyone had issues with the leek?
