Craftsman (Sears) has one that looks like the Vaughan.
Kershaw also makes a solid steel hatchet.
Don't know of anyone making larger solid steel axes other than Estwing.
well i know you said you wanted something bigger but ill add in that i have one of those Vaughans thats better than 30 years old that i got from my dad thats still holding strong after all these years and does a dandy job splittin wood and such.

I'm going to go another route and suggest something a little bigger - the Forest Service Spec boy's axe from Council Tools. A premium axe for less than $60. Big enough to do some real work and still light enough to carry miles up the trail.
Council FSS boy's axe
What the...? Earlier this week it was $45. The regular boy's axe from Council can be found for under $30.
Yeah Steve, that surprised me too. When I wrote a review on this axe recently http://rockymountainbushcraft.blogspot.com/2012/11/quick-review-council-tool-boys-axe-us.html it was $45, and I my recommendation was based on it being affordable.
Just talked to Margot at Council. The price increase is here to stay
What do all of you think of the value at 59 plus shipping?

That's a good review. Honest and to the point.
