I'm looking for a small belt pouch. Dimensions: 3-5"width x 3-5" height x 1-2" depth. I want one with that zippers up and has belt loops. Something along the lines of maxpeditions 3 x 5 or what Id really like, the pouch ESEE uses for their E&E kit.

Any help in finding a pouch like this would be appreciated.

You could use one of the pouches you mentioned and use the malice clips or tac-ties as belt loops.

check out the Maxpedition Janus.

it's intended for use on a waist belt extension, but the extension can be removed and it can be used in a normal belt. very close to your size spec.

i don't have one yet, but it's on my list.

I keep forgetting about the Janus pack. It does look like a good option, though not sure how big it will be on my waist, hard to visualize I guess. May have to give it a try.

condor molle gadget pouch. can be had CHEAP. and is a good product imo

Not sure how I missed your post when I made mine, but seems like a good way to go, though I don't like the narrower but deeper designs. I just placed an order for a Janus pouch, so I shall see how that is and post picks when I get it. Stay tuned.

I am loving the four by six, it just seems like the perfect overal size for pen sized stuff.

To wear it as a belt carry, i have short malice clips from tactical tailor. I'd probably end up making my own tacties, just because I have the gear, if I did this long term. As kind of a nice feature, if you use only the top 2 rows like I'm doing here you can stuff the bottom of the malice clip under the extra wide pals channel so it's not eating into your pants.

it's kind of hard to give a good visual description of size, the four by six is what I'd call a 'palmable' size, it's not so big that you have to to grab one side of it, but not so small that you can wrap your fingers all the way around.

next to an average sized paperback:

totally big enough to fit my lx3, which is on the big side for a compact camera.

I carry way more stuff than could fit in here, so I have it strapped to the top of a remora via the shock cord

this is what I carry in it, and still have quite a bit more room. I could carry 2 of everything here and still have a bit more extra space. The outer slip pocket is a little odd, but it has a nice feature - you can stuff the zipper pull into the corner of it to keep it from jangling as you walk.

This is milspec monkey with a barnacle on the top strap of a remora, a small tactile pouch on the front, Tactical Tailor E&E vertical pouch on right.

It kind of shows the difference between the four-by-six and these, the barnacle is noticeably smaller, and the tactile pouch is pretty much the same size but flatter and not as deep. It also has palls all over the place :p

here's a nice comparison shot between the maxpedition m-1 and m-2 waistpacks, with the four-by-six pouch next to them.

the m-1 is a pretty good looking pouch...

Seems to be a good size, glad to see it has all of the bare essentials lol. For what you are using it for it seems perfect tough.

Can't wait to get my pack to see if it is a good size and wearable. Being able to put my wallet somewhere else will be worth it alone. Tired of sitting on a brick all the time.

The stash-it seems a bit big, but on a side note the Pods they sell are a very interesting idea.

Alrighty. Well I got a Janus today and tested it out. I have to admit the thing is pretty big. The dimensions aren't that much different than the 4x6, though I am pretty sure it is narrower. In any case, the thing seems huge on my belt lol.

My hope was to use it for everything I carry in my pockets(cellphone, lighter, wallet, keys) and am glad it does it. If I took the contents of my wallet out of the wallet itself and put everything in the Janus that way, there'd be a good bit more room. Though don't like that all too much.

Still have to play around with the setup to see what might be the best way to use it is or if a belt pouch is even a good idea for EDC. Seems great in certain situation though, ie when on a boat or in the winter when there is a lot of snow. Both situations you wouldn't want to have stuff fall out of you're pockets since they'd be lost forever or a long time.

BTW, that is a Leatherman Charge on my belt and what isn't pictured is a RAT Izula that is in the back sleeve of the pack that the extension strap goes through.
