Here's another small bird and trout I just got finished. This one was a commissioned piece from a forum member. This one has a thin keen edge and a lot of distal taper that ends in a needle point.

Specs:

1084 steel
7 1/4" overall, 3" of actual cutting edge, .120" thick at the ricasso
African Blackwood scales
416 stainless pins
Heavily rounded spine
Filed thumb grip and fuller in spine

This is a beautiful knife. The sweeping lines of the handle design works well with the blades shape to create a really slick looking knife. I also like the way the different size pins work with the design. Super.

Wow - that is really well executed. Very visually appealing. Love the hamon. Do you have a better photo of the fuller?

Thanks for the kind words all.

Wade, I didn't get a chance to snap a good pic of the fuller, but here's a pic of the fuller from a very similar piece. The fuller looked identical to this:

Love the shape of this knife, I didnt even notice the fuller til it was mentioned.

I was reading about distal tapers the other day and I still dont really understand them lol

Thanks for sharing!
